BrainFlash AI is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data, and your content stays on your device.

Locally Stored Data (On Your Device Only):

• Your notes (title, content, summaries, and category)
• Generated flashcards
• Uploaded document text (PDF/TXT/DOC extraction)
• Auto-saved drafts
• Trash bin items (auto-deleted after 30 days)
• Daily AI usage counter
• Notification preferences

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

AI Processing Data:

When you generate summaries or flashcards, your text is temporarily sent to our AI provider (Groq AI) for processing. This data is:

• Used only for generating summaries or flashcards
• Not stored by us or the AI provider after processing
• Transmitted securely via HTTPS

Data We Do NOT Collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Analytics or tracking data
• Device identifiers
• IP address or network identity

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used only for core app functionality:

• Saving and organizing your notes
• Generating AI summaries and flashcards
• Sending optional local study reminders
• Allowing export of notes to local storage

All final content is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded or stored on our servers.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third parties except:

• Groq AI – only when you request AI summaries or flashcards.

4. Data Security

• Local secure storage (AsyncStorage)
• Encrypted HTTPS transmission for AI requests
• No cloud backups or remote syncing
• You control and delete your data at any time

5. Your Data Rights

You can:

• Delete all notes and flashcards (Settings → Delete All Data)
• Delete, restore, or edit individual notes
• Export notes to your device
• Your data is yours – we never access it

6. Local Notifications

BrainFlash AI uses only local notifications to remind you to study. No push notification tokens or external servers are used.

7. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. All note content is user-generated and stays on the device.

We may update this Privacy Policy as features evolve. The effective date will be updated accordingly.

10. Data Retention

• Notes & Flashcards: Stored locally until you delete them
